Apple discovering waterproof methods for iPhone

Apple takes a patent for an application called USPTO which portrays various waterproofing methods for devices such as iPhone. The technology contains coating for the main board of circuit with a hydrophobic material. The thickness of waterproof coating is limited in-between one to ten micron so; it wouldn’t consume much space as per the statement by Apple team.

For this change of technology Apple needs to leave EMI shield of iPads, iPhones, Macbooks without disturbing the functionality of this equipment. Otherwise, a special process is required after applying coating to an internal circuit board; as EMI shield would create a vague for key elements of a circuit from accepting benefits of sealing.
The Apple patent plans to make use of silicon seals which can connect to board and flex cables which are running in-between internal circuits of apple devices.

Currently, Apple is not focused on waterproofing of its devices as other vendors of smart phones but we can hope that we can see ‘waterproof’ marquee on future apple products very soon.
